Hey there friends
Welcome to the very first Race Week Recap. This was originally just a post on Twitter back on 7 February 2024 before the season got under way, but I’ll add it to the archive here because I could never live with myself if I had to start the newsletter with the 3rd edition of the Race Week Recap.
Top story of the week: Hamilton moves to Ferrari from 2025 on a multi year contract.
Why is this important? Hamilton is arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time. He’s definitely in contention. Most people assumed he would see out his career with Mercedes, the team that won him 6 out of his 7 championships, and where’s he’s seen unprecedented success and popularity.
But the recent lack of form from the team has made him go for glory with the Scuderia instead, making many people doubt that Mercedes have managed to find a short term solution to their woes.
